Why Toner For Less Is Better Than Toner For More

Toner is hugely expensive, isn’t it? So expensive, in fact, that it may seem unaffordable to actually run a printer. But not anymore! You can now get your hand on toner for less. In fairness, toner for less has been around for quite some time, but it is only in the last few years that it has become very good quality. In the past, these toners were simply refilled with new ink and sold on again. That made the quality of the print very poor and it meant customers ran the risk of purchasing items that were broken or on their way towards breaking. Not anymore, however! Toner for less is now not simply refilled, but actually fully reconditioned. This means that the quality of the toner itself is fantastic, as it has been checked for faults, each of the parts inspected, cleaned through and through and then refilled with high quality toner ink. Indeed, there is no more need to worry about your printing budget, since these toners can cost you as little as 40% of an OEM printer. Shop around, you will notice almost straight away that you can get these toners for all the biggest brands. So, no matter which printer you have, whether you are a commercial or a domestic user, you are able to get toner without having to break the bank.

What Is a Refurbished Toner?

Basically, a refurbished or reconditioned toner is a toner that still meets all the OEM standards. OEM, by the way, is Original Equipment Manufacturer. Toner for less, in other words, is a toner that meets all the specifications of a brand new toner. So, they are of equal performance, equal quality, equal page yield (how many pages they can print). However, toner for less is not entirely equal to an OEM cartridge. Many would say that they are in fact better. A toner remanufacturer will work only with the best possible companies to make sure that the cartridges remain of high quality. Usually, they use a “virgin core”. Virgin core cartridges are those that have never been remanufactured before. This means that the quality of the parts themselves is still very high. The amount of toner included is at least the OEM standard, if not more. Each of the internal parts of the toner is checked thoroughly and if there are any problems to the key parts, they are replaced. This includes the drum, by the way. There are a range of tests that the toners have to go through before being remanufactured and after they have been refurbished too. By doing this, the company makes sure that they are definitely of extremely high quality and that the product won’t break down in use. There is no reason not to opt for these types of printers, particularly when you consider that they cost so much less than the OEM branded cartridges.

The Environmental and Community Issues

The next issue you need to think about is the environment. It may seem a bit preachy, but it really is true that we have to think about our environment. If you buy new OEM toner rather than toner for less, what do you think happens to your old toner cartridges? They will end up, in the main, on landfill sites and contaminate our environment. If you purchase toner for less, however, you are purchasing an item that would otherwise have been sitting there on that landfill site. So, by opting to buy toner for less, you are making a positive contribution to not turning our planet into a giant garbage can. But there is more. You are actively encouraged to donate your empty toner cartridges to a charity in your community. They are then able to sell these to the remanufacturing companies and the money they earn is then pumped back into your community. So, not only are you purchasing an item that has protected the environment, you are also helping the local community.

Misconceptions About Reconditioned Toners

Unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions about reconditioned toners. The first is that using a non OEM item will void the warranty you have on your machine. This is absolutely not true and you can check this simply by reading your warranty agreement, so don’t worry about that. The second major misconception is that toner for less is not only less money but also less quality. Again, totally untrue. We have described above what sort of rigorous testing each of the toners has to go through just to be reconditioned. The standard, as we have discussed, is at least the standard of the OEM, if not more. Then, people feel that because the toners have been refilled, the printing quality will be much less good and that the number of prints you can make is much smaller. Again, none of this is true. The cartridges, drums and all other parts are checked through and through and they have exactly the same quantity of toner as a brand new item. There is no reason whatsoever for your print quality to diminish either. It is believed, in fact, that the rumors about toner for less have been started by the manufacturers of branded toner. They weren’t too happy about the fact that their customers were now suddenly going to remanufacturers and spending their money there. Consumers can’t really be blamed for this though, can they? If they can save as much as 40% on their printing cost, and still have the same quality, the choice seems easy to make. So, if you want to be able to print quality prints for less money, make a contribution towards significantly reducing your carbon footprint and at the same time making a positive difference to the community in which you live or work, it seems clear that you should opt for reconditioned or remanufactured toners.

How To Find Toner For Less

A printer is an essential item in almost everybody’s household. Whether you are printing documents, boarding passes, concert tickets or whatever else, a printer is needed. However, one problem with printers is the ink. It runs out so incredibly quickly and toner is hugely expensive to buy. So expensive, in fact, that domestic users regularly buy new printers rather than buying new toner. But did you know you can get toner for less? Whether you are domestic or a commercial user, opting for toner for less is a fantastic option. Not just because you will save money and still get the same quality, but also because you are protecting the environment and potentially making a difference to communities around you. Let’s take a look at how all of this is possible just by buying cheaper toner.

The Environmental Issue

The environmental issue cannot be ignored. Our planet is disintegrating at an alarming rate. But we can still make a difference, we can still turn this around. As a domestic user, if you were to buy new printers rather than new toners, where do you think your old printer is going to go? That’s right, on a landfill site. So, if you opt to buy toner for less, you won’t be getting rid of your old printer and protecting the environment in the process. But there is more to it as well. Toner for less is generally offered through reconditioned or refurbished toners. This means that less empty toners are released into the environment as well. Again, you are making a tangible difference to stopping the world from becoming one big landfill site.

In terms of helping communities, you can also make a really big difference. Once you have used up your toner, you can put it in a charity box. Local charities then sell these to toner refurbishers and the money they make from this goes straight back into the community. You can then buy the same toner for less. It is like a positive cycle of protecting the environment, helping local communities and saving money. How great is that!

But Aren’t Refurbished Toners Really Bad?

There is a huge rumor out there that refurbished and reconditioned toners are of less good quality than their original OEM counterparts. This is an absolute fallacy. However, let’s be honest, even if it were to be true, wouldn’t it still be worth to opt for toner for less if it means saving the planet? However, as you will see, it is a rumor that is not based on any facts. So where did this rumor come from? Why do so many people still believe that you should only buy OEM toner?

The first reason is because someone once said that if you use a reconditioned toner, you void your warranty. This is not true and you are urged to look at the fine print on your warranty to check this. There is no reason as to why toner for less would void the warranty because it won’t damage your machine. The second reason is that people believe the quality of the way toners are refurbished makes them of poor quality. It is certainly true that when refurbished toners first came onto our market, they were simply refilled with toner. This meant there were still old toner leftovers and that the toners weren’t checked. This is no longer the case, however. Now, if you buy toner for less, you are buying a quality product. Each of the toners is checked from top to bottom to make sure there are no malfunctioning parts. It is also thoroughly cleaned. Basically, when you buy toner for less, you are buying a brand new toner. There is no chance at all that you are buying a product that is likely to malfunction or give you bad quality print.

Why These Rumors Exist

So how come these rumors exist? There are a number of reasons for this. The first reason is that, as stated above, the old filled refurbished toners were in fact of bad quality. Not to the point that they would damage your machine, but certainly of poor enough quality to make sure your prints would not come out looking particularly good. However, it seems that the manufacturers of OEM products jumped on this. Have a look at how much an OEM toner costs and compare it to the price of a toner for less. The difference can be as much as 40%, which is huge! For toner manufacturers, this is a difference that they simply cannot compete with. And it seems now that many of the rumors around the quality and condition of refurbished toners have been started by manufacturers of toners. It is in their best interest for these types of rumors to be spread, because it means more people will continue to purchase brand new toners. Don’t be fooled by it though. Refurbished and reconditioned toners are branded items. They are a perfect match for your printer, regardless of what sort of printer you have. All the colors that are needed in toner are provided and your printouts will come out in excellent quality. This is true even for photographic printouts. There is, in essence, no reason at all as to why you should purchase expensive branded item, just for the privilege of being able to say that you purchased an OEM product. Added to this the fact that you will not be making any type of positive contribution to the environment and to your community, and it becomes increasingly clear why you should opt for the reconditioned and refurbished items.

Misconceptions About A Remanufactured TN450 Toner

Printers are necessary but boy would we like do without. Not because they’re not handy, but because the toners are so incredibly expensive. Not anymore however! You could opt to buy the tn450 toner cartridge and make some significant savings. The refurbished toner cartridge will save you around 40% compared to a brand new product, but it gives you all the same advantages. It is a refurbished item that is compatible with most Brother printers. Do take the time to check the web to make sure that your printer is compatible with this particular cartridge. Now, refurbished cartridges have gained a strange reputation as being of low quality. There are a number of rumors going around, all of them false. It is believed that all of these rumors have been started by the manufacturers of OEM cartridges, simply because they don’t want to lose out on the money they make from their cartridges. Let’s take a look at some of the most common misconceptions and why these are simply untrue.

Remanufactured tn450 Toner Cartridge Is Simple Replaced Toner

In the past, remanufacturers used the drill and fill technique. This meant that they would drill a small hole in an empty cartridge and simply refill it with toner. This is an absolute cheat, both of your money and the environment. These cartridges break regularly and the quality of the print is abysmal at best. This is not what the tn450 toner cartridge does, however. These are all tested and cleaned and if there is any damage to any of the parts of the cartridge, they are replaced. This is essential to make sure your cartridge will work properly. Generally, refurbished cartridges have a brand new drum, brand new charge rollers and many other brand new parts that may be necessary. Plus, they are tested before and after they have been refurbished, to make sure you receive a quality item. Even the microchips are regularly replaced.

TN450 Toner Cartridge Is not as Good as OEM Cartridge

Another great lie! Chemical toner became available on the market some seven years ago and almost all of the OEM manufacturers now use this technology. About a year and a half ago, the technology also became available for remanufacturers and the quality of a TN450 toner cartridge is just as good as the original OEM. It has to be, of course, otherwise producers of refurbished toner would go out of business in no time. In fact, we could say that the quality of a refurbished toner is even better, because it has been checked and rechecked.

TN450 Toner Cartridge Uses Reused Toner in the Cartridge

This is, by far, one of the biggest lies of all. Unfortunately, too many people still think this one is true. If this would happen, toner would have get contaminated by the dust on the paper, as well as the electrical charges it is exposed to. It would, quite simply, not work at all. Added to this, the toner formulation for each cartridge is different so it is not possible to combine contaminated toner. Again, this is a complete fallacy.

If the TN450 Toner Cartridge is Defective, My Printer Will Be Damaged

No, no, no! This is the oldest lie in the book. What you must remember is that a toner is a self contained entity and it does not have any significant contact with the printer itself. At worst, you may have to remove the toner from the cartridge. A slight toner deposit is also not a sign of a failing cartridge. Even brand new cartridges deposit a little bit of toner. So much so, in fact, the newer printers now come with a waste toner box specifically to collect these little deposits. You will also have noticed that whenever your printer goes through regular maintenance, the toner deposits are removed, regardless of the type of cartridge or toner you use in your machine. A remanufactured cartridge wears your printer in exactly the same way as a brand new OEM cartridge.

All Brother TN450 Toner Cartridge are Reused, Just Like Canon, HP and Lexmark

One of the reasons as to why people believe that cartridges are likely to be of bad quality is because they believe every single one of them is reused. Again, totally untrue. Every cartridge is checked and vetted and as a result only some 20% of cartridges are approved to be reused. Very often, cartridges are broken during collection of empties or because of poor maintenance. These cartridges are not remanufactured. Instead, their functioning parts are salvaged and these parts are reused if appropriate.

A TN450 Toner Cartridge Is an Inferior Cartridge

This is one of those rumors that have clearly been started by manufacturers. There is no reason at all to believe that a refurbished cartridge is of any lesser quality than a brand new OEM cartridge. In fact, in independent tests, no difference between the two has been noticed. The quality of the print is the same, the number of prints are the same, the low number of reported faults are exactly the same too. What isn’t the same, however, is the price. The price of a remanufactured cartridge is around 40% less than an OEM cartridge, which is a huge difference. Not just that, however, by choosing a remanufactured cartridge, you make a difference to the environment. You are helping to recycle old cartridges, rather than releasing them into the environment. And if you also donate your used cartridges to charity, you are also making a positive contribution to your local community. In fairness, you can do that with OEM cartridges too, but you are unable to join in the green revolution that way.

Using a TN450 Toner Cartridge Voids the Warranty on Your Printer

Once upon a time, this was certainly true. It was an evil trick by manufacturers to make sure people wouldn’t buy cheaper models. However, pressure was placed on OEMs by American Fair Trade and by the European Union and your warranty is no longer affected by using refurbished cartridges.
